Design and production under one roof
A new piece starts with a pencil and a sheet of paper. The designer lays down the broad lines first, then the details, until the sketch is ready for the workshop. That is how 184 hand-made drawings have gathered in our archive.
FD.STIL (F.D.Stil International Art) has been making lighting to order since 1991, in its own Bucharest workshop: chandeliers, wall lights, ceiling lights, floor lamps and textile lampshades, in 14 architectural styles from Byzantine to modern, plus contemporary brass furniture. We make every component from our own drawings, buying nothing from outside: casting, machining, hand finishing and assembly under one roof. In 35 years we have completed 2,788 projects, among them the Art Nouveau chandeliers of the Constanța Casino, awarded the Romanian Architects' Union Prize 2025, lighting for the National Bank of Romania, the Romanian Athenaeum, Cotroceni Palace, hotels such as JW Marriott and Sheraton Bucharest, plus commissions delivered to Paris, London, Dubai and New York. Any catalogue piece can be made in a different size, finish or number of arms, and the moulds stay in the workshop: a series begun can be completed even years later.
For the Constanța Casino we crafted, one by one, over 650 opal glass petals, mounted on hand-finished solid brass structures.
