Outdoor lighting enhances the beauty of your property, improves safety, and extends the time you can enjoy your outdoor spaces after sunset. It is one of the most rewarding investments you can make for your home.

The main entrance

A well-lit entrance helps identify visitors while creating a warm and welcoming first impression. A pair of wall lanterns positioned on either side of the front door provides both elegance and functionality. Beneath a porch or veranda, suspended lanterns are an excellent choice, while a single wall lantern above a secondary entrance is usually sufficient. Outdoor LED light sources consume very little energy and provide years of reliable performance with minimal maintenance.

The garage and shaded areas

The garage should be properly illuminated to ensure safe and convenient use after dark. A luminaire equipped with a motion sensor is often the most practical solution. Motion-sensor lighting also enhances security around shaded areas of the property. The lights can remain on during the early evening before automatically switching to motion-activated operation, creating the reassuring impression that the house is occupied even while you are away.

Steps and pathways

Steps and garden paths should be illuminated along their entire length to ensure safe circulation. Path lights distribute light in a circular pattern, illuminating both the walkway and the surrounding planting. They are easy to install, simple to reposition when landscaping changes, and elegantly define the edges of garden paths and driveways.

The veranda and garden

A veranda calls for soft, romantic lighting, creating an inviting atmosphere for relaxing evenings outdoors. String lights and discreet miniature LED fixtures are ideal choices. Spotlights mounted high within the branches of mature trees can produce the enchanting effect of moonlight filtering gently through the foliage.

The barbecue area

In contrast, an outdoor cooking area requires bright, functional lighting. A directional spotlight focused on the preparation area or discreet concealed lighting ensures comfortable and safe cooking after sunset.
