Kitchen Lighting

A workspace and a place to gather. The kitchen is first and foremost a workspace, but it is also where family and friends naturally come together. Its lighting should therefore strike the perfect balance between functionality and comfort.

Ambient lighting

A generously sized ceiling light fitted with LED light sources provides even, well-diffused illumination throughout the room. However, ambient lighting alone has its limitations, often casting shadows exactly where they are least welcome — over the sink and the worktop. These areas require dedicated task lighting.

The sink area

Two recessed spotlights positioned above the sink provide an elegant solution to unwanted shadows. If the area is open to the ceiling, an additional ceiling light offers an equally effective alternative.

The kitchen table

A decorative pendant light suspended above the table is the classic choice. Connected to a dimmer, it can provide bright, practical illumination for homework, hobbies, and everyday family activities, while also creating a soft, intimate atmosphere for a quiet dinner.

Under-cabinet lighting

LED strips or linear light fixtures should be installed as close as possible to the front edge of the wall cabinets to minimise reflections on the worktop. As a practical guideline, the illuminated section should cover at least two-thirds of the cabinet's length to ensure even and effective task lighting.

Glass-fronted cabinets

Display cabinets with glass doors can be fitted with discreet interior lighting, transforming them into elegant display features. Additional concealed lighting installed beneath the base cabinets, at plinth level, creates a warm, welcoming atmosphere while also serving as a practical night light.
